Face + Jaw 3D Printing

For facial and jaw surgery, a digital plan can be turned into physical 3D-printed models and guides that help carry out the agreed movements accurately. These are produced from the 3D planning prepared for your case.

What is Face + Jaw 3D Printing?

Working from 3D images of the face and jaws, the planned surgical movements are worked out and rehearsed virtually before treatment. Where it improves accuracy, the agreed plan can be transferred to surgery using 3D-printed guides that help position the jaws as planned. This virtual surgical planning is carried out in-house by our consultants, using our own planning software. The printed guides are produced externally to our specification. Planning is led by Dr Chris Donaldson, Consultant Orthodontist and Clinical Director, with surgery provided in-house by Mr Ash Messiha, Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon.
