Metal Braces, inc. Damon®

Metal Braces: What are They and How Do They Work?

Metal are a popular and effective option for straightening teeth and improving oral health. They consist of metal brackets on each tooth and wires that fit into the brackets, that work together to gradually align your smile over time.

What are Metal Braces?

There are many different kinds of metal brace and we offer a broad selection in the clinic. The two main types are called 'conventionally ligated' and 'self ligated'. Conventionally ligated metal braces have wires held into the brackets with small coloured elastics bands, whereas self ligated braces have integrated sliding gates that do this instead.
